Storage Buddy self storage are open, but with some restrictions due to the current environment.

All our customers must wear a face covering at all times when in our reception area or in our storage area and our staff will wear a face mask at all times when dealing with customers in our reception or storage areas.

To enable us to observe correct social distancing we will be restricting the number of customers in the reception area at any one time.  We would be grateful for your patience and to listen to any requests our staff make in this regard.

It is imperative you Check-in Online or via telephone and complete all the necessary actions required at home first.

If you are not able to travel to move into storage on your move-in date or have any other questions on this, please contact our Customer Support Centre on 0114 2435 8420 who can help further.

Reserved customers can still move into storage. However it is imperative you Check-in Online or via telephone and complete all the necessary actions required at home before you move into the store. The details to check-in are on your reservation confirmation email.

We are temporarily suspending taking all cash and cheque payments due to banking restrictions.

Our staff have intensified the daily cleaning levels of our storage areas, especially in the most commonly touched points i.e. door handles, PIN pads, lift buttons, toilet flushes, card readers, reception desks, chair handles etc.

Customer toilets are available in every storage facility and have provision for hand washing. Hand sanitisers are available in our receptions.

Looking after our team members and customers

At Storage Buddy, the health and safety of our team members and customers is our principal priority. Our storage facilities are large buildings yet not crowded places and generally we have a low intensity of use.

  • We have provided PPE appropriate for our team members to use.
  • We have carried out risk assessments to confirm our stores remain COVID-19 compliant with appropriate measures, including by way of example;
    • we have provided Perspex barriers, floor distancing markers, face coverings, protective gloves, hand sanitisers and other washing facilities
    • all our customers must wear a face covering at all times when in our reception area or in our storage area
    • our staff will wear a face mask at all times when dealing with customers in our reception or storage areas
    • we have installed appropriate COVID-19 customer signage which is kept under review
    • our reception doors are closed and a limited number of customers will be allowed into our reception area at any one time
    • only one customer allowed in a lift at a time
    • we have intensified the daily cleaning levels of our storage facilities, especially in the most commonly touched point
    • the vast majority of our team members drive, cycle or walk to work and we have encouraged more to follow suit

Our storage facilities are also monitored externally out of opening hours to provide additional customer service and maintain security.

Prospective customers, should they have the need, can reserve a room, check-in online, and complete move in documentation without needing to be present at our store. Other customers can complete the process in our reception when they move in. All deliveries are being left in the loading bays and customers will be notified as normal and be expected to collect them promptly.

We would ask our customers to be patient and to respect and observe our notices relating to these operational changes.

We continue to closely monitor information from the UK Government and Public Health officials, and to follow all guidelines to ensure we are doing everything we can to continue to provide a clean and safe environment for all our valued customers and team members.

All deliveries are being left in the loading bays of our facilities and customers will be notified as normal; and customers will be expected to collect them promptly. Please consider not generating deliveries if they are not essential, given the burden already placed on the fulfilment industry and the social distancing requirements for our staff. Your support would be much appreciated during this time.

We appreciate your understanding at this time.

Yes. All customers are required to pay a refundable security deposit before storing. How much is dependent on the size room you choose. The amount is usually the equivalent of one week’s storage fees (inc. VAT) for our storage rooms and 28 days of storage fees if you are a Flexi Office or Vehicle Parking customer.  The deposit is fully refundable provided there is no damage to the room after you have vacated.

 

No. You can take out your own insurance but it must cover goods being placed in self storage. Not all household insurances will cover you whilst your possessions are in a self storage facility, so please check the terms of your insurance and provide us with proof of your cover if not using ours, which must state that it covers goods stored in a self storage facility, and name the store you are storing at and the full postal address of the premises. It is your responsibility to keep your insurance documentation valid and up to date.

The majority of stores have a snack and cold drinks vending machine in the loading bay, and we would normally provide you with free tea, coffee or water whilst you are waiting to move in depending on how busy the store is.  However, in response to the current coronavirus situation, we are temporarliy suspending this service until forther notice.

Please do not eat or drink in the storage area.

Packaging materials are available to order online for delivery to your chosen address; as well as Click & Collect at any one of our locations during our opening hours.

Please also consider not generating deliveries if they are not essential given the burden already placed on the fulfilment industry.

Just contact our Customer Support Team on 0114 2435 8420, before your reservation expiry date, which is displayed on your reservation confirmation email and we will cancel your reservation immediately.

If you merely wish to change your move in date, store location or room size, just contact the store or call our Customer Support Team.

This depends on where you are storing, how long for and what size room you require. You can get a quote online or speak to a member of our Customer Support Team on 0114 2435 8420. All prices given for quotes are on the basis of a weekly cost including VAT. Storage is charged for weekly and in advance.

This will depend on how you made previous payments on your account:

  • Payments by card / standing order / faster payment / BACs will be refunded by cheque.
  • Payments by Direct Debit will be refunded to the account from which payments have been most recently taken.
  • Payments by credit or debit card will be returned to the same card used for the most recent payment.

If the refund amount is larger than the most recent payment amount then your refund may be issued part and part. i.e. Part to a credit card and part to a bank account.

We do not retain your card details, so you will need to contact reception when closing your account in order for us to issue your refund.

Any competitor quote should be presented to us in writing at one of our stores. A verbal quote is not acceptable.

All competitor quotes must be dated within 2 weeks of your move-in date and must be produced prior to move-in.

Any competitor quote must be from a competitor located within 3 miles of our store and offering a similar type of storage service. This means a self storage centre with comparable facilities and security features to Storage Buddy.

Quotes from non self storage services such as shipping containers and containerised storage companies will not be accepted under our Price Match.

Our Price Match is only available for rooms of 200 sq ft or less and is always subject to the availability of room space at each of our stores. Space may be available at our other local stores that may suit your requirements.

Our Price Match cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer.

Any quote offered by Storage Buddy will be honoured for 4 weeks.

Storage Buddy reserve the right to withdraw this discount at anytime.

The Price Match rate is guaranteed for a maximum of 24 weeks after which the storage rate will revert back to our standard rate.
